The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has partnered with TradeAlly Technologies Limited to train freight forwarders on the use of mobile application software in cargo clearing operations.
The National President of NAGAFF, Chief Tochukwu Ezisi during the official signing of partnership agreement at its headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday, noted that the bedrock of the association is hinged on constant education and enlightenment of all freight forwarders.
While stressing the importance of technology in the present global world, Chief Ezisi who was represented by the Deputy National President Headquarters, Mr. Simeon Nwonu stated that agreement between the association and the technology firm will create a platform for greater enlightenment and education of freight forwarders particularly in the field of maritime.
In his words: “In today’s global world, we all know that Information and Communication Technology rules the world. That is why NAGAFF is consistent in ita quest for education as far as our members are concerned. Today, history is being made as we go into agreement with TradeAlly in order to ensure that every member of NAGAFF is acquainted with modern technology in terms of using our phones, laptops and other gadgets in our office to discharge our responsibilities as freight forwarders.
“We want to believe that the agreement being signed today will form the platform for greater enlightenment and education of our people most especially in the field of maritime. I thank the NAGAFF Academy for their efforts towards this direction and the project has come to stay” Ezisi said.
Also speaking, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TradeAlly Technologies Limited, Mr Ola Simeon informed that TradeAlly is a user-friendly freight forwarding and logistics management software that offers an array of features to manage cargo operations, including request management, quote management and automation, document management, invoice management, and shipment tracking and visibility.
Simeon said the partnership will focus on two key objectives which include the supply of users for the TradeAlly app which will provide the opportunity to reach a lot of freight forwarders and within the next one month of onboarding and get feedback on what to improve on. Also, TradeAlly will assist NAGAFF with getting members to adopt technology and help the association improve its digital capabilities as the world and freight management is becoming more digital.

We are democratizing freight forwarding by giving small and independent freight forwarders access to digital and collaborative tools to enhance their business operations.

On his part, the Registrar of the NAGAFF Academy, Mr. Francis Omotosho noted that the Beta phase Mobile Application software training is to enable freight forwarders have a test-run of its features, give their feedback on its workability before other better features will be added for seamless cargo delivery.
Omotosho informed that TradeAlly has promised to set up the Academy’s ICT Laboratory with 30 Computer sets for the effective training of all academic students on different forms of software applications that will help alleviate stress in the supply chain business.
The NAGAFF Registrar also noted that the technology firm is the official driver of the association’s technology project, adding that TradeAlly has promised to design and manage a website for the association which will be handed over to competent members of the association after being trained to manage it.
