The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has urged the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to establish Direct Traders Input (DTI) cafes in Northern borders.
This is contained in a letter to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi and signed by the Secretary General of NAGAFF, Mr Increase Uche.
In the letter made available to newsmen in Lagos, NAGAFF said that the DTI cafes would assist traders in the northern borders to be active.

The DTI café is a way of lodging customs declarations through the internet.
Under the new system, traders must lodge their customs declarations using the computer system and customs officers would then make an assessment using the electronic details.
“The approved borders of NCS in the North are the channels of imports and exports as it is in Idiroko, Ogun and Seme border trade routes,’’ NAGAFF said.
The association said that it believed that “if one is economically engaged, he or she would contribute toward building the Nation.’’
“The NCS stands to enhance revenue function and assurances for trade compliance,’’ it said.
