NAGAFF Visits Custom Boss At FOU Zone ‘C’; Victor Dimka

Top echelon of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has paid a visit to the Controller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone 'C' of the Nigeria Custom Service in Owerri, Imo State; Deputy Controller Victor Dimka, with a view of strengthening relationship between both organizations.

The NAGAFF delegation led by its National President; Chief Eugene Nweke, also had some members of the Board of Trustees of NAGAFF and officers of the association in the Eastern Zone on the delagtion.

Top echelon of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has paid a visit to the Controller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone 'C' of the Nigeria Custom Service in Owerri, Imo State; Deputy Controller Victor Dimka, with a view of strengthening relationship between both organizations.

The NAGAFF delegation led by its National President; Chief Eugene Nweke, also had some members of the Board of Trustees of NAGAFF and officers of the association in the Eastern Zone on the delagtion.

In a statement sent to Shipping Position Daily by the association's media officer Mr. Dipo Olayokun, Chief Nweke  was said to  have observed with delight the transformation going on in the Customs, all aimed at making the maritime industry more friendly, facilitate international trade and enhance the revenue base of the country.
Nweke said that the ongoing transformation in the customs service was aimed at making the maritime industry more people-friendly.
“It will also help to facilitate international trade and enhance the revenue base of the country,’’ the NAGAFF chief said.

The NAGAFF President also used the occasion to call on freight forwarders to avail themselves of the various educational opportunities available to improve their competence because, according to him, the Customs of tomorrow will be different from that of today.
 
He commended Controller for the giant strides being made in the fight against smuggling in the zone which he said have caught the attention of NAGAFF High Command.
 
On his part, the Area Controller of FOU Zone C, David Victor Dimka commended the rapport between NAGAFF and the Customs which he observed has been cordial.
 
Controller Dimka said the relationship has been of much benefit to the activities of both the FOU and freight forwarders, thereby boosting international trade in the country.
 
He commended the association’s immense intellectual contributions to the maritime industry, this according to him have helped in no small measure in efforts to push the country forward.
