Nigerian Institute of Shipping Inaugurates New Excos for Eastern Zone

Sequel to the inauguration of its national executive officers in Lagos late last year, the Nigeria Institute of Shipping (NIS) has inaugurated a five-man executive to run the affairs of the institution in the eastern zone.
The newly inaugurated executives include; Mr. Ebeten Moses Akeodi as Chairman, Bishop Universe  Ekeke as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Walter Elechi as the General Secretary, Mr. Iwuji  Adulphus as Treasurer and Mr. Dennis Ikpo as the Public Relations Officer of the institution.

Performing the inauguration recently in Port Harcourt, a trustee of the NIS, Mr. Ebenezer Okwulehie congratulated the new team on their election and the subsequent swearing into office.
Mr. Okwulehie tasked the new executives to brace up to their responsibilities and also for them to work hard to reposition the NIS Eastern Zone to where it belongs.
“ I trust by the Grace of God, in the first quarter of 2013, NIS Eastern Zone will get back on track, returning our former members”, Mr. Okwulehie told the new executives. He urged them to work in unity and to also work in synergy with NIS National Secretariat.
Earlier in his address, the newly inaugurated Chairman of NIS eastern zone, Mr. Ebeten Moses Akeodi expressed gratitude to God for making the day come to reality.
“I must confess that today marks the beginning of good days ahead. I thank God for the decision by all to elect me. I also thank all for coming to grace the inauguration”, Mr. Ebeten Moses Akeodi said.
While expressing his appreciation to the trustees of NIS for turning up for the inauguration, Mr. Moses Akeodi acknowledged that NIS Eastern Zone needs a lot of work, and assured that he and his team will work hard to ensure that the former glory of the NIS Eastern Zone is restored.
According to him, shipping is a critical business in the Eastern Zone and there is need for all hands to be on deck so as to ensure that in year 2013 all NIS members become agents of change.  “2013 is challenging. I therefore plead with all to stand up and work as a team to make things to work”, he said.
Those in attendance at the inauguration include –  first vice president of NIS, Dr. Samuel Babatunde, and the immediate past chairman of NIS Eastern Zone Apostle Dr. Christopher Udomkpong, who is now the second vice president of the institute; among others.
