NIWA MD Bola Oyebamiji Outlines Vision, Strategic Goals for 2025 with Message of Hope

The Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji has articulated a strategic vision for the Authority in 2025, emphasizing resilience, innovation, and transformative growth in Nigeria’s inland waterways sector.

In a New Year message addressed to the management and staff of the Authority, Oyebamiji expressed gratitude to God for the privilege of witnessing the start of 2025. He described 2024 as a pivotal year marked by significant progress despite challenges, underscoring the Authority’s achievements in strengthening operations and laying a solid foundation for future endeavors.

“The year 2024 was a significant turning point for the National Inland Waterways Authority. Despite some challenges, we demonstrated resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our vision and mission. Together, we achieved milestones that have positioned us for greater success,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Oyebamiji outlined the Authority’s strategic priorities for 2025, which include enhancing connectivity, fostering sustainable practices, and driving economic growth through transformative inland waterways operations. He called on the staff to leverage the lessons of 2024 to pursue ambitious goals and deliver excellence in service delivery.

“Our collective efforts have the power to transform the Inland Waterways sector, improving its safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Let us embrace the new year with renewed hope and energy, setting ambitious goals and working collaboratively to achieve them,” Oyebamiji charged.

The Managing Director further emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in achieving NIWA’s vision. He urged staff to remain dedicated to the Authority’s mission of enhancing Nigeria’s inland waterways as a critical driver of national development.

Concluding his message, Oyebamiji prayed for God’s blessings and wished the staff and their families a prosperous and fulfilling 2025. His message reflects a commitment to consolidating past successes while driving strategic initiatives that will ensure NIWA’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s marine and blue economy.
