Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has allayed fears over the delay in the completion of the turn-around-maintenance (TAM) of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), even as it blamed the delay on the debilitating congestion which Lagos ports have been experiencing since the last quarter of 2008.
Addressing a joint media session in Kaduna recently both the Managing Director of KRPC, Mr. Moshood and the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr. Levi gave the assurance that the project which ought to have been completed by the end of January will now be would be completed and ready for use by March.
“The effect of the delay is not as much as it is being paraded. You know that anytime we shut down, business will not move, but there are people who work around here that they will bear the brunt, the inconvenience for the time being, but by and large, business is going on. The state government is aware of what is going on, and of course, its officials know the long-term benefit that would accrue to them.
