The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has announced the expulsion of Mr. Dipo Olayoku, its former Secretary-General, branding him persona non grata. The decision, ratified by the association’s National Executive Council after a joint session with the board, comes amid accusations of anti-party activities and gross misconduct.
According to a press statement signed by the NAGAFF Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) Mazi Chidiebere Enelama noted that the expulsion follows Mr. Olayoku’s involvement in representing NAGAFF at the National Working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), where he stands accused of leading efforts to subvert the party’s constitution and alter its foundational symbols.
In a scathing rebuke, NAGAFF condemned Mr. Olayoku’s actions as tantamount to “outright stealing and conversion,” expressing disappointment that Senator Kwankwaso may have been misled by his former representative. The association called on Senator Kwankwaso to promptly dismiss Mr. Olayoku from his position, citing the urgent need to safeguard the party’s integrity and uphold democratic principles.
Responding to recent court rulings regarding NNPP’s internal crisis, NAGAFF reiterated its commitment to seeking legal redress through appropriate channels, including a potential appeal to the Supreme Court. The association emphasized that majority of its members have a vested interest in the resolution of the party’s internal disputes, urging swift and decisive action to restore stability and ensure adherence to democratic norms.
Amidst the turmoil, NAGAFF extended gratitude to its President, Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, for his unwavering support and allocated funds for legal services. Additionally, the association urged Governor Abba Kabir to prioritize good governance in Nigeria and refrain from entangling state resources in legal battles stemming from internal party conflicts.
“Today Monday the 22nd of April 2022, the National Executive Council of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders rose from a joint session with the Board of NAGAFF and took a decisive decision to expel and declare Mr Dipo Olayoku the former Secretary General of NAGAFF who was seconded to represent NAGAFF at National working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) a persona non grata.
“Mr Dipo Olayoku is hereby declared persona non grata and stands expelled from the national association of government approved freight forwarders as a member of the foremost freight forwarding and logistics organisation in Nigeria. NAGAFF regret to note that Senator Kwankwaso may have allowed himself to be deceived by Mr Dipo Olayoku hence his audacity to change the flag , logo and mutilating of the constitution of the party in an illegal convention . It is our hope that Senator Kwankwaso’s lawyers should be able to tell him the legal implications. This is outright stealing and conversion
“We the members of NAGAFF and on behalf of our founder Dr Aniebonam the original owners of the New Nigeria People’s Party whose certificate of registration is in our custody hereby direct Senator Kwankwaso to sack Mr Dipo Olayoku with immediate effect for anti-party activities and gross misconduct. Meanwhile NAGAFF is being told by our senior advocate that a federal high court in Abuja ruled last week that the internal crisis in the New Nigeria People’s Party is a family affair. Indeed, it is a family affair but the court has jurisdiction to make a clear decision in line with the constitution of the party to resolve the same.
“All the same Senator Kwankwaso and the national working committee should understand that the majority of the members of NAGAFF are the same people at the board of the New Nigeria People’s Party at the time of registration with INEC Year 2002. With the presence of Dipo Olayoku in the party it shall be a common sense for senator kwankwaso and Buba galadima to understand that peace talk is not possible. Therefore, parties should be heading to Supreme Court under the circumstances”, the statement reads in part.
