NPA Board Commend Investors In Maritime Sector

Investors in the maritime industry have been commended for boosting capacity building, creating employment and encouraging foreign direct investment in Nigeria.
Members of the board of Nigerian Ports Authority gave the commendation yesterday while on a familiarization tour of the Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics base(LADOL), Niger Dock, on Snake Island and Ports and Cargo Terminal in Tin Can Island Port, even as they thanked the organisations for their massive investments in the ports.

Members of the board of Nigerian Ports Authority gave the commendation yesterday while on a familiarization tour of the Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics base(LADOL), Niger Dock, on Snake Island and Ports and Cargo Terminal in Tin Can Island Port, even as they thanked the organisations for their massive investments in the ports.
At LADOL the Managing Director Dr Amy Jadesimi told the board members that her company is the first 100 per cent Greenfield Deep Offshore Logistics base in Nigeria that is building specialised facilities with a view to ensuring technology transfer to Nigeria.
At the Niger Dock, the Chairman Mr Anwar Jamarkani who conducted the visitors round its facilities disclosed that Niger Dock in Snake Island Free Zone generates its electricity and has vast quay side for ship repair, maintenance and a 5,000 tons capacity dry floating dock.
Mr Jamarkani thanked Nigerian Ports Authority and Federal Government for providing an enabling environment for foreign investors.
The Managing Director of Ports and Cargo Terminal Mr. John Jenkins conducted the visitors round the company facilities. While expressing happiness on the excellent relationship between NPA and his company, he urged it to look into the issue of access road to the port.
Members of the board who were on the tour include: Senator Florence ItaGiwa, Senator Lekan Mustapha and Engr. David Omonibeke and Board Secretary/Legal Adviser Mrs Obiageli Anubi, while NPA Management was represented by General Manager Western Port; Ms Adenike Sonaike and other top Management staff.
