In a bid to further demonstrate his commitment to the provision of efficient port service in a safe, secure and customer friendly environment, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has donated some security devices to the Ports Authority Police Command.
In a bid to further demonstrate his commitment to the provision of efficient port service in a safe, secure and customer friendly environment, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has donated some security devices to the Ports Authority Police Command.
Speaking before handing over the devices to the representative of the Ports Police Command, the Managing Director, Malam Habib Abdullahi said theNPA appreciates and commends the Police Command for their efforts at combating security challenges at the nation’s seaports, and therefore decided to assist them with the devices in order to further encourage them to do more.
The Managing Director was represented by the Assistant General Manager, Security, Western Port, Mr. Sam Asamage.
The devices include: bullet proof vests, Helmet, knee and elbow pad, digital search mirror with monitor for searching vehicle, Tear Gas, Explosive Vapour Detective, Handcuffs and walkie-Talkies.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Port Police Command, Mr. Selem Amachree, Assistant Commissioner of Police, NPA Headquarters said, “On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. M.D. Abubakar and Ports Authority Police Commissioner, I accept these devices. They will help the Police in their work as they strive to enhance security violent crimes at the ports will be combated”.
