A book titled; “Quality Customer Service”: Key Strategies for Organizational Performance, written by Mr. Anthony Chukwuma, an employee of Nigerian Ports Authority has been presented to the public.
The event which took place at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island Lagos on Wednesday, 16th May, 2012 was presided over by the former Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority (Defunct Eastern Ports Authority) Mr. Felix Obvude.
A book titled; “Quality Customer Service”: Key Strategies for Organizational Performance, written by Mr. Anthony Chukwuma, an employee of Nigerian Ports Authority has been presented to the public.
The event which took place at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island Lagos on Wednesday, 16th May, 2012 was presided over by the former Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority (Defunct Eastern Ports Authority) Mr. Felix Obvude.
In his remarks, Mr. Felix Obvude commended the author of the book for his painstaking efforts and his can- do-spirit, urging him not to rest on his oars, and urged that all employees of the Authority to read the book.
Commenting on the quality of the book, the Executive Director Finance and Administration, Alhaji Habib Abdulahi described it as a useful material well written to build capacity and competency of organizational members on the need of transforming business enterprises from under performance to optimal performance.
Reviewing the book, Dr. (Mrs.) Maduagwu asserted that the words used in the book are simple and could easily be understood and urged all civil servants and organisation to embrace the ideals of good quality service.
According to the author, Mr. Chukwuma, the Three Hundred and Ten (310) page book, according to the author is written to enthrone service quality leaders and champions who are desirous as changed agents to use knowledge and insight gained to transform their organisation to greater profitability and customer loyalty.
“The Survival or otherwise of enterprises is dependent on the faithfulness and interest of the customer to products and services, so organizations should build a culture of efficiency, effectiveness and value for the customer”, he added.
He concluded by asking organizations to institutionalize service culture and propagate it by way of training of all strata of employees if the organisation wishes to retain its esteemed customers and be a world class service provider.
