The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) is once again co-ordinating the Nigerian Pavilion at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) holding in Houston Texas from May 3rd to 6th, 2010.

The OTC is the premier gathering of professionals and opinion leaders in the global Oil & Gas industry and provides excellent opportunity for positive portrayal and promotion of the great potentials of Nigeria and the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry.

It also provides a unique platform for close interaction between leading International and Nigerian Oil Service Companies, IOCs, industry executives, Government policy makers and political leaders, to share ideas on the Nigerian Oil Industry in a relaxed and conducive atmosphere.
Several Nigerian companies, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will be part of a robust contingent to underscore the dynamism and potential of Nigeria’s petroleum industry. About 2000 industry leaders either from Nigeria or with interest in the Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria attend this event every year.

PETAN, with the backing of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, is the co-ordinator of the Nigerian participation at the OTC 2010, which takes place at the Reliant stadium, Houston Texas , USA from the 3rd to the 6th of May 2010.

At the OTC 2009, Nigeria had the fifth largest representation of over 60 participating countries.

A statement by PETAN and which was made available to our correspondent listed the events for this year’s OTC to include; Exhibition: Nigerian pavilion, number 1462, 1463, 1466, 1467, 1563, and 1567  at the Reliant centre, from Monday May 3 to Thursday May 6, Special Panel Session on: “The PIB, the Gas master plan and the future of Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry”, scheduled for Tuesday May 4th, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Reliant Centre, Houston Texas, Joint PETAN – US Commercial Services Business Matchmaking Event at the Nigerian Pavilion, Reliant Centre, Appreciation/Award Dinner, on Tuesday, May 4,  at 6.30pm and Networking Golf outing, which will take place at Great wood Golf Club, Sugar Land on Thursday, May 6, at 12.00 noon.
PETAN is an association of Nigerian Technical Oilfield service companies in the upstream and downstream sectors of the Oil industry. The group has been promoting the development of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria through the organisation of and participation in conferences, seminars and workshops as well as creating opportunities for Nigerian companies to develop in a competitive industry market. It has been organising and hosting the Nigerian pavilion at the OTC, Houston Texas since 2005.
