Commercial activities at the Sunrise Park was last week placed on temporary  halt following the two days rain and the ongoing road rehabilitation at the Trinity end of Apapa Oshodi expressway in Lagos.

Shipping Position Daily recalls that dealers in fairly-used car at the park had said that they are frightened about the fact that the raining season will affect the business which indeed occurred last week as the park experienced massive flooding.

The dealers berated the construction company handling the road reconstruction project for allegedly diverting water to the park and turning it to water channel.

Lamenting what he termed as poorly planned road construction by Borini Prono construction Limited, the director Sunrise Motor Dealers Association, Pastor Uzor Andrew said that the government and the construction firm did not have the interest of the automobile dealers at heart, because the park has been flooded owing to diversion of water from the construction to the auto park.

The director noted that the dealers are unable to gain entrance into the park as majority of the used vehicles have been trapped.
He added whenever it rained within the Olodi Apapa environs, most of the dealers will rather stay at home because of the flooded park allegedly caused by the construction company.

"Business activities here have been brought to a halt, we have over 6000 vehicles here but there is nobody on ground to sell because they cannot gain entrance to the place due to the water that has settled in the place”, he lamented.
"There is no access road to the park and nobody knows how deep the water is at the moment and some of the cars will be affected as well".
Our correspondent also confirmed that the Trinity Police station was also affected by the rain and the ongoing construction as the station is also badly flooded. Apart from that, the spare part dealers are also affected
The dealers also called on the ministry of works, Mike Onolememe and his counterpart from the ministry of transport; Idris Umar to ensure that good construction of the Trinity axis of the Apapa Oshodi expressway is carried out.
They also urged the construction company to emulate Julius Berger Nigeria Limited that is working on the Mile 2 axis of the expressway.
