Shipping Position Daily gathered at the tank farm last week that the product was part of the allocations that has been given to the company by the Nigerian National Petrol Corporation (NNPC) in other to ensure that this year’s Charismas and New Year celebrations are free of scarcity and long queues.

Shipping Position Daily gathered at the tank farm last week that the product was part of the allocations that has been given to the company by the Nigerian National Petrol Corporation (NNPC) in other to ensure that this year’s Charismas and New Year celebrations are free of scarcity and long queues.
It was also gathered that in December alone, the company is expected to discharge 60,000 metric tonnes of petrol at the tank farm. This is expected to compliment the over 20 vessels expected to be discharged by the NNPC within the same period.
When our correspondent visited the Kirikiri tank farm last week, all the depots located in the area were noticed loading products, even as petroleum tanker drivers have turned the residential area into new haven for packing their trucks.
Some petroleum marketers who spoke with our correspondent last week had predicted that the present fuel scarcity might continue throughout the Christmas celebrations because the NNPC is supplying the product to only few of the depots in Lagos.
Meanwhile, Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison Madueke assured last week that the NNPC will ensure availability of petroleum products during and beyond the festivities.
“We too, on NNPC side we have pushed out a lot of our strategic reserve in the bid to ensure that the people are not overtly put out in terms of fuel scarcity, we are doing everything we can on ground to ensure that this Christmas will be like last Christmas as well” she was quoted to have said.
