Importation of vehicles into the nation’s seaport has dropped in the month of April as a total of 9,512 units of both used and new vehicles made it to the RORO ports in Lagos as against what was recorded in the quarter of the year.

Statistics revealed that Five Star Logistics Limited played host to most of the imported vehicles, recording an impressive 6,012 units, thus leaving both Standard Flour Mill and Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited with 3,500 units.
Further investigations revealed that a total of nine vessels made it to Five Star Logistics terminals. Two vessels came in with new vehicles on the same day, with a combined total of 2,864 units, the ships are: MV Frontier Ace with 1000 units and Amber Arrow with 1864 units on the 22nd of the month, while a vessel called Bergamot Ace berthed at the terminals on the 6th with a 1,000 units.
The document that was sighted by our correspondent also revealed that M.V. Verona came into the terminals with 450 units of used vehicles on the 26th; while CASV Rio Nevado came in on the 20th with 643 units of fairly- used vehicles, while Maestro Sun made it to the terminals with 200 units on the 24th of last month and Celestine recorded a total of 300 units of used vehicles on the 26th of April.
According to the document from the Nigeria Port Authority [NPA], Five Logistics Terminal has been consistence with the highest number of imported vehicles in all of the RORO terminals in Lagos.
Meanwhile, Ports and Terminal Multiservice Limited [PTML] played host to a total of 2,400 units of unspecified category of vehicles.
Suzuka Express came in with 300 units of vehicles on the 30th, while Grande Ghana came in with 300 units on the 17th of April.
Other vessels that made it to the terminal of PTML include: Grande Angola with 300 units on the 16th, Grande Cosco Di Averio on the 11th, with 300 units, Grande Guinea with 300 units, while, Republic Di Argentina arrived on the 23rd with 300 units and Grande Togo berthed and discharged 300 units and finally for the month of April at PTML, MV Grande Congo handled 300 units on the 20th of April.
Standard Flour Mills received a total of 1,100 units of vehicles in April when MV. Hoegh Singapore discharged 600 units of fairly used vehicles on the 15th of April while Hoegh Kyoto brought in 500 units on the 26th of April.
