Sir John Oforbike (ANLCA Chieftain)
Everybody will want peace to return to ANLCA because peace has eluded us for the past five to six years. We want a change in ANLCA because anytime ANLCA sneezes, other associations catch cold. God has given us the leadership in the freight forwarding industry. We want peace to return to the association and we also want the leadership to look at the challenges of all the members as well as having a good relationship with all the stakeholders especially the Customs which is our major constituency. The past government didn’t work with Customs as they were attacking Customs left and right. Most importantly, I want this new NECOM to work closely with Customs, because we are licensed by the Customs. They should use dialogue to achieve the goals of the association and not conflict. They should take us to the next level where we are trained because knowledge is very important for our development. We need to go global because Customs brokerage is an international thing.
Babatunde Mukaila (Immediate Past National Secretary, ANLCA)
We are happy that the long-awaited elections have been done and completed. I congratulate the new NECOM members and wish them all the best. We expect that they have unity of purpose in their dealings and operations for the success and development of the association. Most importantly, the new NECOM leadership should ensure genuine and total reconciliations of all members of ANLCA. This will sustain peace in the association and they will have a smooth tenure of leadership.
Onyekachi Ojinma (ANLCA Chairman, Seme Border Chapter)
We believe the coming onboard of the new NECOM will bring peace to the association, because for the past five years we have been going through a lot of crisis. We believe in the competence of the new President, he is an experienced man. He knows the problem of ANLCA and he knows how to tackle them headlong. We know he will do well by bringing the association back to shape. I would also like to commend the intervention of the new acting CG of customs that brought peace to the association and facilitated the elections.
Prince Olawale Cole (ANLCA Chieftain)
I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to President Emenike Nwokeoji and the entire NECOM. His election is a testament to the faith that ANLCA members have, and the confidence in his abilities to steer this association towards greater achievements. As we move forward, I strongly encourage President Nwokeoji to prioritize unity and harmony within ANLCA. It is my belief that by fostering dialogue and collaboration, we can bridge the gaps that may exist and ensure that ANLCA remains a strong and united voice for customs agents across Nigeria.
Tochukwu Esizi (National President, NAGAFF)
I believe that the tenure of the new President of ANLCA will usher-in a new era of collaboration, innovation, and growth within our industry. It is my hope that we can work closely together to address pressing issues facing the freight forwarding industry such as regulatory reforms, trade facilitation, and enhancing professionalism among our members. I also look forward to continued cooperation between NAGAFF and ANLCA as we strive to promote the interests of our respective organizations and the broader customs and logistics community. Together, we can make significant strides in advancing the goals and aspirations of our members.
Anthony Onyike (National Vice President, NAFFAC)
We are happy that there is no more dichotomy and aggrieved members in the association. They have all agreed to work together. What I expect from the new NECOM is that they form a common front to tackle the problems and challenges facing freight forwarders in the port, because they are respected as the leaders of the freight forwarding associations. That is how the government sees them. The new leadership of the association should ensure they work in synergy and bring together all the members for the collective development and achievement of the interests and objectives of the association.
Frank Obiekezie (National Secretary, AREFFN)
ANLCA is just one of the associations, only that they are the foremost and oldest. We wish them well because their situation in the past five years has not given the freight forwarding industry a good name, because they are the people most known by outsiders and they use it as a yardstick to look at us as people who cannot organise themselves. Now that they have been able to achieve this, we are praying that the peace should be a lasting one. We want this peace to be sustained. If all the associations are working together, it will be easier to protect the interests of freight forwarders generally, and we shall not be working at cross purposes. So we shall be happy if peace prevails in all the associations.
Festus Ukwu (National Secretary, NCMDLCA)
We look forward to their cooperation with other sister associations. We need to join hands as a formidable team so that we can have one voice in the freight forwarding industry. This will enable us to achieve the objectives and protect the interests of all freight forwarders in the industry. We wish them well and pray that peace will ever sustained in the association. It is the responsibility of the new leaders to ensure that all members of the association work together as one family. This is a good development and we are happy in the industry, and we are hoping that it will be sustained.
