Ojo Akintoye (Former Secretary, Tin Can ANLCA)
The other things that the president needs to look at, is how ANLCA will be chattered so that our job will no longer be an all-comers-affair, people should come into this profession with their Diploma or HND certificates, the step has been initiated and our series of letters are at the National Assembly, but we need to put more efforts to make them turn this into law. Apart from this, the other thing President Shittu should look at is the welfare of his members from chapter to national level, the conducive environment under which they are operating, if the environment is not conducive, it will be difficult for those practicing there to work. Again, there should be uniformed charges for all freight forwarders, if I am getting a million naira job I should be able to calculate how much my commission will be, if all these is taken care of, we will not have much problem. Another vital issue, we are not saying customs officers should not do clearing and forwarding job, but there should be a decorum, if they want to be an officer let them remain so, but if they want to be an agent, let them resign and join us; provided they can meet the requirements, but being an officer and a clearing agent is affecting our job.

Gani Adeola (PRO, ANLCA at PTML)
The major thing that our President; Prince Olayiwola Shittu should work on is the issue of PAAR, the value that is being issued by customs at this time is too outrageous and it calls for concern, the economy is dying gradually and the job is no longer profitable. Another thing ANLCA President should do is to eliminate the "Chairman takes all" syndrome at many of our chapters, the chairman do not care about his executives, even though our constitution has stated it out clearly how issues must be handled, some of our chairmen do not have the interest of their followers at heart. Lastly, the issue of customs doing the job of agents should be eradicated totally, you will find out that many of the senior officers have the best jobs today and their cargoes pay far lesser value compared to what is stated in the books.

Emeka Chukwumalu (Chairman, ANLCA Task Force Apapa)
We have got a new secretariat and it is a credit to the present executives, I know that there are many challenges before us in this industry but we need to face them one after the other. After achieving a conducive atmosphere which is our secretariat, we need that atmosphere to work and tackle other challenges. The challenge comes everyday both from custom and other agencies but we are gradually handling them. Policies are rolled out by the government all the time and as they come, we expect ANLCA to be ready to face it so that we would still be able to give our best to our importers and to the entire Nigerians. So, what we expect next from ANLCA is to engage the government positively, this will helps us work well and give our best.

Chucks Njemanze (ANLCA Chairman, Lillypond Chapter)
Every organization that is focused on making significant impact in the industry in which they belong will definitely achieve something at the end of the day. The acquisition of the national secretariat is a stepping stone to greater things in ANLCA, after this achievement, it is being expected from each and everyone of us who are members of the association to work towards collaborating to make sure that ANLCA doesn’t go below the standard we are in right now.

Emeka Chidiaka (Task force Chairman, Lillypond)
As it stands, Shittu has done very well, we believe other people will emulate him, hence, our expectation is that since we have got a new secretariat, others should follow his footsteps, the various chapters should also have their own secretariat so that when they are having their meetings it will be on a chapter level, and when they have a national meeting, all chapters will come together to the national secretariat. There are other plans that still need to be achieved after the secretariat project, the building cannot be on his own, the beauty of a building is when something positive is coming out of it; that is a well packaged idea coming out of the building which will help to turn around the economy.

Olorogun A.I.Ugowi (ANLCA, PTML)
ANLCA has been on for 60 years, and within those years somebody has brought a tremendous idea of building a national secretariat, I am so happy with his idea. From now on, I expect ANLCA to be more focused on how to accumulate wealth and buy ships. Furthermore, our next plan is to make sure that everyone who is a member of ANLCA are being accommodated, Shittu has done a great job by building a national secretariat which no one has done in 60 years, I must commend him for doing this, he has shown to us as members that he has a great plan and vision for us all, we are solidly behind him.

Haija Bola Muse (CEO Bomarah Group)
This has never happened before in the history of ANLCA, but today under Prince Olayiwola Shittu, we have a very big mansion as our secretariat which is so amazing, we are very grateful to God because we know more good things are on the way. It is not just the building alone, we believe that so many other things are still coming, but for now we are very happy about his new idea of having our own national secretariat.

Charles Agomuo (Image Maker, Nigeria Customs, Lillypond)
I expect ANLCA to settle down and do better business than they have been doing before, because a rolling stone gathers no moist, now that they have got a new place they are expected to be big in the maritime industry. All along before the establishment of the new secretariat they have been claiming to be freight forwarders and association of licensed customs agent, but it is now that they just got their secretariat, it is now that they can beat their chest and also do better things with the association, such as establishing a robust synergy with the Nigeria Customs Service and other people who are having one thing or the other to do with them.

KNOW YOUR BODY PARTS: The Liver The liver is a vital organ located in the right upper abdomen, playing a crucial role in metabolism, detoxification, and digestion. It’s the largest solid organ in the body and is responsible for filtering blood, maintaining blood sugar levels, regulating clotting, and synthesizing essential proteins. The liver also stores energy, removes toxins, and produces bile, which aids in digestion Liver functions: · Metabolism and Detoxification: The liver processes nutrients from the blood, breaks down and balances them, and creates essential substances for the body. It detoxifies harmful substances like drugs and alcohol, converting them into less toxic forms for excretion. The liver plays a role in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. It stores glycogen (a form of glucose) and vitamins, releasing them when the body needs them. · Digestion: The liver produces bile, which is stored in the gallbladder and released into the small intestine to help digest fats. Bile also helps in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. · Blood Regulation: The liver regulates blood sugar levels by storing and releasing glucose. It synthesizes clotting factors, which are essential for blood clotting. It removes old red blood cells and processes bilirubin, a byproduct of red blood cell breakdown. · Other Functions: The liver plays a role in immunity, helping to fight off infections. It produces proteins that are involved in the immune response. The liver also stores iron and other essential minerals. Frequently Asked Questions About The Liver · What are the first signs of a bad liver?
