In a tragic incident, a lady identified as Nimotalahi Ishola Folashade has reportedly drowned after allegedly jumping off a boat on Saturday, March 9.
According to police sources, Ms. Ishola boarded a boat from Isuti jet in Igando, Lagos state, alongside eleven other passengers, heading to Totowu in Ogun state. The journey, which was supposed to be routine, took a devastating turn when Folashade purportedly decided to take her own life.
The captain of the boat recounted the harrowing event, stating that while in the middle of the river, Folashade inexplicably removed her life jacket and plunged into the water. Eyewitnesses onboard the boat were shocked and unable to prevent her from jumping.
In the aftermath of the incident, items found in Folashade’s bag added to the mystery surrounding her actions. Among the belongings were a bottle of insecticide, an Alimosho General Hospital card, and various medications. The discovery of these items has sparked speculation about the circumstances leading to her tragic decision.
The captain of the boat said the matter was swiftly reported to the authorities, and efforts are currently underway to recover Folashade’s body from the river.
