The Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, has extended warm felicitations to stakeholders, the business community, and the Muslim umma on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
In a statement signed by ASP Isaac Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, the CP assured of adequate security measures around the nation’s ports during and after the celebration. He disclosed that sufficient human, material, and operational assets have been strategically deployed to ensure comprehensive coverage of the Western Ports Area, including Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, Lekki Deep-Sea Port, and other lighter terminals.
The CP revealed that Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and specialized units like the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine (K9) units have been mobilized to prevent any criminal activity. The Ports Police Marine Department has also been directed to intensify patrols around the ports’ perimeters to prevent incursions through waterways.
CP Ishola encouraged everyone to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, peace, and love that characterizes the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, while remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious incidents or activities to the nearest police station.
