Alhaji Ahmed Bello, a prominent candidate for the Chairmanship of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has presented a transformative seven-point agenda aimed at fostering professionalism, inclusivity, and operational excellence within the chapter.

Unveiling his manifesto at a stakeholders’ event on Wednesday, Bello reiterated his commitment to transparency, promising to make financial records, decisions, and operational procedures readily accessible to members. He emphasized that accountability would be the cornerstone of his administration if elected.

He outlined plans for regular, high-quality training sessions to keep members updated on customs regulations, technological advancements, and best practices in the clearing and forwarding industry. This, he said, would empower members to stay ahead in a constantly evolving sector.

Bello also proposed a dedicated support service or helpline to assist members facing challenges with customs documentation, regulatory compliance, and legal matters. He pledged to foster stronger partnerships with terminal operators, shipping lines, and other logistics stakeholders to improve service delivery and reduce operational costs for members.

Inclusivity was a key highlight of Bello’s agenda, as he advocated for greater participation of younger professionals, women, and underrepresented groups in the chapter’s activities and leadership roles. He stressed that diversity would strengthen the association’s capacity to address challenges effectively.

To promote harmony within the chapter, Bello promised to establish formal mechanisms for conflict resolution, ensuring disputes among members are resolved amicably. Additionally, he vowed to implement a robust feedback system to allow members to voice their opinions and influence the chapter’s direction.

Calling on members to support his vision, Bello described his manifesto as a comprehensive roadmap for a more transparent, inclusive, and efficient KLT chapter. His well-articulated agenda has bolstered his position as a leading contender in the forthcoming election.

Meanwhile, ANLCA chieftain Ojo Peter Akintoye urged members to participate actively in the electoral process, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration to strengthen the association. He called for robust synergy among members, noting that collective effort is crucial for the chapter’s growth and success.
