No fewer than 4000 individuals and corporate organisations who had earlier registered with the Council for the Registration of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) are to be formally inducted at an elaborate ceremony which is billed for Lagos.
Confirming the forthcoming event, the council’s registrar, Sir Mike Jukwe disclosed that the event will be graced by the minister of transport, Senator Idris Umar who will also deliver the keynote address.
No fewer than 4000 individuals and corporate organisations who had earlier registered with the Council for the Registration of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) are to be formally inducted at an elaborate ceremony which is billed for Lagos.
Confirming the forthcoming event, the council’s registrar, Sir Mike Jukwe disclosed that the event will be graced by the minister of transport, Senator Idris Umar who will also deliver the keynote address.
Giving a breakdown of the prospective inductees, Jukwe disclosed that a total of 3600 individuals and 400 corporate organisations would be formally inducted into freight forwarders register.
These individuals and corporate bodies will thereafter be qualified to use the title; Registered Freight Forwarder (RFF) after the induction which, according to him, is expected to be graced by eminent personalities in shipping and freight forwarding.
Harping on the importance of the registration and the imminent induction, the Registrar declared that after the induction, it will be difficult for any unregistered freight forwarder to practice anywhere in Nigeria.
According to him, “the induction will usher in a new regime of enforcement and compliance with industry best practices and standards and we look forward to new era in the business of freight forwarding in Nigeria.”
Jukwe disclosed that, by the induction, the council’s investigative and disciplinary panel can now go into full swing and ensure that any erring registered freight forwarder is will go into full swing this year, so that those who fall short of the law will be made to face the full wrath of the law in accordance with the CRFFN Act.
He stated further that the induction ceremony will hold at the main Auditorium of the University of Lagos in the morning.
