The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has urged aggrieved freight forwarders to explore internal dispute resolution mechanisms in addressing their grievances.

Chairman, Governing Council, CRFFN; Mr Abubakar Tsanni, said this at the 24th meeting of the Governing Council of CRFFN which held in Abuja.

According to Tsanni, any freight forwarder, association of freight forwarder, professional bodies and training institutions that violate sections 19 and 20 of CRFFN Act 2010 risk expulsion.

He urged them not to take their complaints against each other or the council to the public and press without exhausting the statutory channels provided by CRFFN in resolving disputes.

Tsanni warned that, “the penalties are clearly spelt out in section 20 which, according to him are: outright expulsion and the name struck out from the register of CRFFN”.

To address any grievances, he stated that, “all complaints should be addressed to the chairman, freight forwarders disciplinary tribunal at the CRFFN headquarters and offices nationwide”.
